One of the most noticeable differences between the 2022 Mazda CX-5 and the 2021 CX-5 is the new exterior design, especially for the front and rear of the SUV. Mazda minimized the character lines that are on the 2021 CX-5. In comparison, the 2022 CX-5 has a more elegant look with its reflective body surfaces.

The front of the 2022 CX-5 has a new signature wing and a new three-dimensional texture for the grille. The headlights and taillights received upgrades as well. Each lamp features a pair of sleek rectangular LED lights. Also, the 2022 CX-5 has new aluminum alloy wheels.

The 2022 CX-5 turbo models get their own distinctive styling enhancements. The new CX-5 2.5 Turbo model, which was called the Grand Touring Reserve for the 2021 CX-5, has a contemporary new look. Enhancements include gloss black finishes for the exterior and red accents and stitching in the cabin.

The CX-5 2.5 Turbo Signature model has a more elegant appearance. The exterior cladding features the same color scheme as the rest of the 2.5 Turbo Signature body. This is nicely contrasted by bright silver finished wheels. Inside the 2.5 Turbo Signature, the cabin has a premium look and feel, with materials such as genuine woodgrain and Nappa leather.

The 2022 Mazda CX-5 has improved driving dynamics and ride quality

In addition to the styling enhancements, the 2022 Mazda CX-5 has improved driving dynamics and ride quality compared to the 2021 Mazda CX-5. This includes upgrades for the suspension, drive modes, transmission, and seats.

The 2022 CX-5 has a new drive mode feature. With a simple touch of a switch, the driver can select the most suitable drive mode to maximize the driving capabilities of the CX-5. Also, the CX-5 has a new six-speed transmission. It’s more responsive and enables the CX-5 to accelerate more smoothly.

The suspension of the CX-5 has many improvements, resulting in a more comfortable and enjoyable driving experience. This includes a more rigid frame and enhancements to the dampening control structure. These improvements help to reduce road noise, minimize vibrations, and create a quieter cabin.

Another enhancement that improves the ride comfort for the 2022 CX-5 is the new seats. They provide the driver and passengers with greater stability, as well as a more natural and comfortable feel.

All 2022 Mazda CX-5 models have a standard all-wheel drive system

With its all-wheel drive system, the Mazda CX-5 provides excellent traction when encountering slippery road conditions and driving over rough terrain. While the all-wheel drive system was an optional feature for the 2021 Mazda CX-5, it is standard for all 2022 Mazda CX-5 models. Also, Mazda plans on making an all-wheel drive system standard for all of the CX models.

Overall, the 2022 Mazda CX-5 is a much better model than the 2021 Mazda CX-5. The 2022 CX-5 does not have a complete redesign. However, the differences between the two models are significant enough to warrant opting for the 2022 CX-5 if you are debating which model to buy.

More information about Mazda from Wikipedia

Mazda Motor Corporation (Japanese: マツダ株式会社, Hepburn: Matsuda Kabushiki-gaisha) is a Japanese multinational automaker based in Fuchū, Hiroshima, Japan.

In 2015, Mazda produced 1.5 million vehicles for global sales, the majority of which (nearly 1 million) were produced in the company’s Japanese plants, with the remainder coming from a variety of other plants worldwide. In 2015, Mazda was the fifteenth largest automaker by production worldwide.

The name Mazda came into existence with the production of the company’s first three-wheeled trucks. Other candidates for a model name included Sumera-Go, Tenshi-Go and more.

Officially, the company states that

The name was also associated with Ahura Mazda (God of Light), with the hope that it would brighten the image of these compact vehicles.

The company website further notes that the name also derives from the name of the company’s founder, Jujiro Matsuda. The other proposed names mean “god” (Sumera) and “angel” (Tenshi); both indicate Matsuda’s strong interest in human faith.

The Mazda lettering was used in combination with the corporate emblem of Mitsubishi, which was responsible for sales, to produce the Toyo Kogyo three-wheeled truck registered trademark.
