Here’s When 2023 Buick Envision Production Will Start
Production of the 2023 Buick Envision will begin this spring, GM Authority has learned.
The compact crossover, which is expected to remain largely unchanged from the current 2022 model year, will enter production at the GM Jinqiao plant in Beijing, China on April 4th, 2022. The order books for the vehicle initially opened up in December of last year, but production of the nameplate has been severely impacted by the global semiconductor chip shortage, so production is beginning much later than GM initially planned.
The 2023 “B u i c k” Envision represents the third model year of the crossover’s second generation. Seeing as the all-new, second-generation Buick Envision was only introduced for the 2021 model year, GM isn’t making any major changes for 2023.
As we reported previously, though, the automaker has elected to drop the Satin Steel Metallic (paint code GIR) and Burnished Bronze Metallic (paint code GR8) exterior colors from the order books for 2023, which will likely be indirectly replaced by two new colors. GM has also gotten rid of the In-Vehicle Air Ionizer system, expanded availability for the Continuous Damping Control suspension system and added a new 18-inch wheel option for the 2022 model year.
The crossover will continue to come standard with GM’s turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder LSY gasoline engine, which is rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The four-cylinder is paired with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.
Pricing for the 2022 “B u i c k” Envision starts at $32,695 for the entry-level Preferred trim level with FWD. 2023 Envision pricing will come to light as its production start date approaches this spring.
