Consumer Reports: 2021 Toyota Models Don’t Make Everyone Happy

When we sifted through the data, it became clear that 2021 Toyota models don’t make everyone happy.
The least satisfying 2021 Toyota model according to Consumer Reports
In terms of consumer satisfaction scores, the vast majority of Toyota cars, SUVs, crossovers, and pickup trucks scored at least 4/5. However, some of them scored a bit lower. In fact, The 2021 Toyota C-HR is the least satisfying 2021 Toyota model. It is also the smallest Toyota SUV.
Consumer Reports data shows a predicted consumer satisfaction rating of just 1/5 for the 2021 Toyota C-HR. While this car may get major points for style, it falls short of practicality. Owners aren’t pleased with the overall value, comfort, or driving experience of the 2021 Toyota C-HR. In other words, most C-HR owners aren’t planning on buying another one when it’s time to go car shopping again.
The C-HR is a crossover in Toyota’s ever-evolving crossover and SUV lineup. The base model is the 2021 Toyota C-HR LE trim, with a starting price of $21,595 according to Toyota. In the Consumer Reports review, CR notes its good fuel economy and long list of advanced standard safety features. However, the praises sung stop there. Slow acceleration and “horrendous visibility” are part of the issues that make up the long list of low points for the 2021 C-HR.

The Toyota: Corolla, RAV4, and Tacoma are some of the brand’s top selling models in the US. That said, these models have lower consumer satisfaction ratings than any other 2021 Toyota models––except for the unfortunate C-HR. Here’s a breakdown of CR’s predicted owner satisfaction scores for these three popular models.
First up, the 2021 Corolla. This compact car is a beacon of practicality. Its low starting price and reputation for good reliability make it appealing to a wide range of buyers. In fact, CR ranks it No. 2 in its class. However, the 2021 Toyota Corolla also scored a 3/5 for predicted owner satisfaction from Consumer Reports.
In addition to that, the 2021 Toyota RAV4 also scored 3/5. If you want a RAV4 with higher ratings in this area, you may want to check out the RAV4 Prime model. This is the plug-in hybrid version of the popular crossover, and it scored a higher 4/5 predicted owner satisfaction rating.
The 2021 Toyota Tacoma also scored 3/5. Despite its obvious appeal as a small work truck or formidable off-roading companion, the 2021 Toyota Tacoma is showing its age. A primitive cabin experience and lackluster 2.7 liter four-cylinder base engine mean CR ratings don’t expect high long-term owner satisfaction.
