Fiat Doblo: Italy’s cousin
CAR Fiat presents the new generation of its Doblo van/ludospace, which now takes over the technical basis of the large Stellantis family.
What you have in front of you is the family version of the Fiat Doblo, which will have the same particularity as the other members of its family: it will only be offered in a 100% electric version. It will receive a 136 hp engine, and a 50 kWh battery that promises a range of some 280 km.
Stellantis’ decision to limit electric a vehicle normally intended for families with limited budgets may seem absurd. The fact is that it is induced by the CO2 emission quota that Europe imposes on each brand active on its territory. To meet this quota, stellantis brands had to “eliminate” sales of thermal models, and it was on the ludospaces that the cleaver fell. But do you know which brand specializing in hybridization does not have a quota problem? Toyota, which will continue to offer internal combustion engines.
